6 of us volunteered at Micah Ministries on February 24th. All of us ended up serving in the clothing ministry that night. When you work in the clothing ministry you approach the guests as they are eating dinner and ask them what their name is and if they need any clothing. You then go to a back room and try and find the items that they need. Serving in this way allows you a few moments to call the guest by name, share a smile and sometimes even a laugh with them. Often you hear these heart breaking stories as you briefly talk with them. It find it personally difficult to tell them that the clothing item they asked for is not available. We all made tentative plans to return to Micah the following month but of course the pandemic changed those plans. I hope that we can organize a return visit when the pandemic is over.

Thanks, John for sharing this information with the FIRE folks. I heard from one of your team members from St. Paul's Outreach who related his experience in this ministry. Hopefully, we can all get back to working shoulder to shoulder, gloved hand in gloved hand :)
